Movement

#26 Alex Hantson sent in his missing 14 PRs to complete a full 60Hz timesheet. He takes 63rd place in the 60Hz ladder.

#94 Chevallier Florian is charging forward, holding up the French Army flag. He made 9 PRs and a 6pt AF cut, but promises to do better since he is still warming up from being away since the start of this year. As for the Battle of the Florians, #68 Florian Chollet has a big lead for now, but #91 Florian Vaz is only barely ahead.

#105 Andrew Manning made it past a 2pt AF gap between #107 Tory Waters and #108 Stephen Regat, and now has 5 players and a top-100 finish within arms' length. Only 1 AF pt separates Andrew and #99 Rhodri Morgan. His rival, #121 Andrew Johnson, passed #122 Arnaud Palierne and reached Hero C.

#139 Rein Boyd raced 5 new PRs to pass 6 players. He joined a month ago, but his times were already pretty good because he had been following the site for some time, without being a member.

#215 Charlemagne Colok returned after 2.5 years away! His ranking has slipped many places during his long vacation, but he wanted to get back into the top 200. His 32 new PRs resulted in a 23pt cut and a passing of 24 players. If Charlemagne is the ancient French karter back from a long holiday, #211 Thomas Mizzi would be his younger counterpart. Thomas, who is only a few positions ahead, was away for a month. He made 3 new PRs to become Exp B.

#303 Scott Dufault is trying to get back into karting shape and pass that top-300 barrier. He reported 4 new PRs and passed 7 players.

#386 Alvaro Fababu made a 19pt AF cut to pass #396 Grinberg Milan and become the 2nd top player of Spain. He is stepping on the toes of #383 Kevin Booth and #385 Nathan Stinson in the rankings and is a single PR away from reaching Adv B, so he has no excuse not to produce at least one PR within the next few days.

Fourteen PRs from #442 Jeff Tsang gave us the biggest AF cut of this sleepy week: 37pts. Jeff passed the 5 Canadians mentioned in last week's update, which puts him in the top-20 among the Canadian players.

A few veteran players made mini-comebacks: #37 Trystan Pugh, #101 Cole Gilbert (who became Hero B) and #112 Piet den Dulk.

New Records

No new records this week. Marijn came closest, missing Richard's course time on Peach Beach by 0"03.

Movement

Another quiet week. Rumour has it that it's because it's summer, while some people think that everyone's busy getting jobs and making money for all the awesome games coming up within the next couple of months.

Let's see what we have here... #4 Andreas Rudmarker hit an AF is exactly 4.00, which leaves him trailing #3 Aron Langerak by only 0.31 AF pts. It could be a good month for Andreas! Will Aron stop him? Andreas stands to gain the bronze medal position.

#5 Marijn Jongbloed is also Aron's head, and stands to gain the Dutch crown. His couple of PRs push him to within 2 AF pts.

#78 Ryan Stevens passed #79 Scott Abbey, as predicted last week. To reach 7th in the US, he has to pass five more players and tackle #72 Jon Prentice. Ryan also has the lowest ARR among the Heroes, so there should be a promotion around the corner.

#98 Chevallier Florian made a return after half a year break. He says he's making a comeback. It's good timing for the Frenchman to start PRing again, since he was close to dropping out of the top-100. Possible targets for him to aim for are the French trio of #89 Tanguy Audenaert, #90 Florian Vaz and #92 Kevin Sirman.

#147 Patrick Hewson passed 3 players to break (more like poke) his way into the top-150. He doesn't quite have the Pr Smash virus in his bloodstream, but at least he manages PRs regularly. Not much more to go until he gets a rank promition...

#400 Alvaro Fababu bagged 15 PRs to pass 16 players and end the week on a nice, round position. Alvaro is the 3rd ranked Spaniard, but there are only five players separating him and #394 Grinberg Colastra Milan.

#445 Roy van Cauter passed 30 players on the ladder. Among them were several Dutch players, including SMK champion #462 Karel. Roy also reached Advanced level in ARR.

Canada's #488 Jeff Tsang made a nice 58pt AF cut to push his way into the top-500. His 14 PRs included his first Adv C time, and he reached Int A overall. He passed recent addition #496 Tom Webb, but there are many more Canadians he can pass. There's another 5 within the next fifty positions.

New Records

Two WRs to report.

Marijn Jongbloed took Aron Langerak's lap record on Peach Beach with a 21"668. Aron's G+10 score of 21"69 was set six months ago. Marijn is now back on the WR tally with 1 WR, while Aron is tied with Vince on 4 WRs.

Andreas Rudmarker improved his own 30"912 lap record in Mushroom City with a 30"903. This gives him a 0"02 lead over Aron, but both players have a G+9 time. Andreas's old record was set five weeks ago.

Welcome to...

Jacob Goldfinger, USA (~750, Beginner C)

The 40ft fall guy must've felt pretty low. He was Australian, see, and you can't get down under that by much. Yes, I have no idea what to write about.

Movement

Last week we had half of the top-10 players active. This week it was a bit little less with just three. #7 Vincent raced a WR, which you can read about lower down. #4 Andreas Rudmarker made minor (enough to avoid losing any ground) cuts in AF and ARR. #5 Marijn Jongbloed made the biggest cuts, scoring 7 PRs to take a 0.9 AF pt lead over #6 Konsta. Marijn also lowered his ARR below 0.50.

#17 Andrew Math plans to take a short break from the game starting this week, but he reported one PR in MCR. It moved him up seven placed for a 0.2 AF cut, which gave him the edge over #18 Rene Bauer on the AF ladder. When Andrew returns, he will be facing a 2.5 AF pt deficit against Rene's friend #16 David Schiering.

Absent since May, #34 Michael Duerr sent in six new Titan times. His 2.2 pt cut makes up for some lost ground over his time off and got him ahead of #35 Gregor Fran.

#79 Ryan Stevens caught up to #78 Scott Abbey, passing three players. Scott currently holds the 9th place among the USA players. If Ryan passes him, 8th-placed Jon Prentice is only another six positions further on.

UK players #150 Patrick Hewson and #153 Pete Robinson are pretty close to each other. Pat passed #152 Shaun Tanney (Paul's brother) and #151 Michael Jongerius this week by scoring 5 PRs. Pete, a veteran who joined in 2004 and played over the year after that, has only recently started a comeback.

#416 Alvaro Fababu continued to PR for yet another week in a row. This time it was a 27 pt AF cut using 20 PRs. He moved up twenty places and became Advanced C.

#541 Jeff Tsang joined last month but had many missing scores. He's worked on his time-sheet in the past couple of weeks and reported 32 new PRs. This gave him an AF ranking of 541, almost 100 positions higher than his projected rank based on his old PRs. #545 Will Dearden, another comeback player, is close behind Jeff. He moved up 18 spots and reached Intermediate B.

New Records

One new record this week from Vincent van der Fluit. His 1'37"770 M+ time on Waluigi Stadium did what Richard failed in doing last week (by just 0"01), and that was beating Marijn's 1'37"86 record from April. This bounced Vince back to 4 WRs in total. Andreas, Aron and Hendrik have 5 each, with Richard holding the rest.

New Players

No new players.

Look up the 2:33:12 OoT run on youtube, it's pretty cool.

Movement

(Joey Michorius felt bad about not yet having a green tick and breaking the nice streak of ticks in the charts, so he got removed until he can find ways to fulfill his promises and get some proof going. As a result, lots of people had some small gains in AF without actually playing.)

#1 Richard Karlsson had 5 new PRs to share with us, giving him a 0.2 AF cut. Meanwhile, #2 Hendrik Bunde scored a pair of his own but still lost a little bit of ground in AF. Overall, Richard extended his lead over Hendrik to 0.7pts.
#4 Andreas Rudmarker had 6 PRs, and #3 Aron Langerak's slight dip of 0.1 AF pts means that Andreas is now 0.5 AF away from reaching third place. Will the new month bring him good fortune? He may make it to God one of these weeks as well -- just 0.15 ARR pts to go.

A little behind Andreas, #5 Marijn Jongbloed and #6 Konsta Jukka were active and made some cuts. It's still close between them (0.3 pts). Is Konsta considered the underdog here? As it stands, they're 16-16 in matchups and Konsta has a lead in lap totals while Marijn has a lead in course totals.

#25 Matt Tanzer, the newest Myth player having just become Myth D, cut 2 pts in AF to pass French trio #29 Yannick, #28 Xavier and #27 Cedric, as well as passing #26 Swiss-American Alex Hantson. Being top-25 is another nice milestone for Matt, but he should also soon overcome #24 Jake Sopcak to take the US bronze medal. And then we have top-20, and then Andrew, and then top-15, and then Bo, and then top-10, and then... well, there's lots of work to be done, Matt, and someone has to do it so get started.

#88 Alessandra Martinelli passed 5 players, all of them fellow Europeans. It was her first time playing in two weeks' worth of taking a break. Her 7 PRs were enough to make her a Hero A... just another step closer to being the first female Titan! Scary thought.

#100 Alain Studer doubled up on last week's 15 records by scoring 27 new ones! He cut 40 AF pts and jumped from 139th to being a top-100 player, and furthermore he is only inches away from passing #99 Rhodri Morgan for a two-digit ranking. He complained only last week that his family was hiding his GCN, but it seems that he has found a way around it by "making a deal"?

#112 Piet den Dulk has long ago lost his fence-sitting position at the fringe of the top-100, but he decided to on/off play a little once again and scored some PRs. Piet passed #113 Tobias Bauer (who is very good at Wii Play) and got a small lead on his favourite rival #114 Christophe Cosentino. In the same region, #109 Andrew Manning had made some "typos" in his recent submissions, which are now corrected and he dropped back out of the top-100... all the more reason to make it back in there again. Andrew's rival #125 Andrew Johnson got his first Titan time (on PB) and should reach Hero C any day now...

Newcomer #145 Rein Boyd had a crazy first full week on the site. He says that he was already addicted to MKDD and had played it a lot before finding out about this site. Rein's 32 PRs gave him a 49pt AF cut to take him to top-150 from 198th, and led him to a Hero D title. Close behind is #152 Patrick Hewson, getting pretty close to reaching Hero himself. Pat passed 12 players, including #161 Jordon Ward, and is stepping over the heels of #151 Shaun Tanney and #150 Michael Jongerius. #164 Fabien da Silva passed a handful of players to move up to where Pat was last week. He became Expert A in ARR and scored his third Hero time.

#310 Scott Dufault finally completed his missing times to obtain a full timesheet and official debut on the AF ladder. His 22 pt AF cut over the week pushes him even further ahead, almost to the top-300. With 19 PRs under his belt, Scott had no trouble making it to Advanced A and is more than half-way to Expert.

#430 Jeurgen Gerads also completed his timesheet, making it to the top-500 with his debut on the ladder. Filling in his missing times improved his ARR title from Beginner all the way down to Advanced D. Jeurgen is a specialist in DKM, where he has a pair of Hero times in the top-100! Perhaps he will dedicate some time to the other courses now that he is fully ranked?

Close behind Jeurgen is Spaniard #435 Alvaro Fababu, returning from a 1 month break with a 37pt AF cut to improve by 39 positions. He became Advanced D this week. Three recently-added players each crossed the top-500 border this week. They're not too far from Alvaro: #475 Roy van Cauter, #487 Lucas Simon-Wambach and #495 Tom Webb. Roy has admitted that he was diagnosed with the Smash virus, and had the biggest cut of trio (46 AF pts). Lucas, friend and recruiter of #145 Rein, had a respectable 28pt cut. Tom scored four more Advanced times (among 19 PRs). All three players reached Intermediate A level; Advanced is just around the corner.

New Records

Richard Karlsson tied Vincent van der Fluit's lap record on Mushroom Bridge of 25"670 G+6. Vince's record was from June. Marijn Jongbloed missed out on the WR by just 0"004 yesterday, so maybe he will press Vince and Richard for this record.

Andreas Rudmarker lost the Daisy Cruiser record upon Richard's return, but fought back to make a big 0"25 lead of 1'36"298 to Richard's 1'36"54. It was a G+7 score, several standards above the old G+4 record. Hendrik and Aron are the only two other players sub-1'37.

Richard had one more record for the week. He edged Hendrik's 23"85 lap in Sherbet Land with 23"836 G+1. Hendrik and Aron's times, both GD, were raced in February.
